A local property management company owns two commercial office buildings in Austin, Texas. Each building has a different access control system, and both are in need of being replaced. One building has been pre-wired with Ethernet cabling and the other has a Wireless LAN deployed throughout the facility. The Reach ACS network architecture allows both sites to be equipped with a new access control system without requiring additional network cabling. Installation of the Reach ACS is easy and inexpensive. There is no need to replace any of the peripheral door devices since each Reach IP Controller supports the industry standard Wiegand readers, electric strikes, and motion detectors already installed at each door.
The property management company doesn't have an IT department to install software or maintain PCs, so they simply log into their secure ReachNet account over an internet connection using a standard web browser to administer their Reach ACS.
